I have copy of original factory window sticker for car in front of me.
Second item down is "Rosewood Metallic Paint". It was a $645.00 option. No mention of "Red" or "Brown".
It is definitely an official Porsche document ("Port of entry Wilmington").
And just looking at car tells you that it is the red and not brown Rosewood Metallic. You can use Google and find cars with both tints. The fact that there were two different Rosewood Metallic tints was news to me.
I'm still leaning towards a specially ordered car. Non-standard color could have been preferred by and ordered by a favored customer.
Bottom line is I have an official Porsche document that goes against every published color chart for 1982 or any other nearby year for that matter.
And every nook and cranny inside and out is the original color so it definitely came this way from the factory
Beats the heck out of me !
