Not so fast...

The improvement didn't last long. Not sure why it improved at all considering the actual issue.

Took it in for a valve adjustment (I hate doing those) and asked my mech to take a crack at it.

It ended up being the crank position sensor gap. It wasn't close enough to the flywheel and was causing the jerkiness.

He said that it came to him while he was in bed. He remembered back in 1984 when the 3.2 was new. He was in the Porsche engine class and the instructor told them that the motor would be jerky if the CPS-to-flywheel gap wasn't just right. He said you won't find this in the book, it was just a tidbit the guy threw out there.

So, something to file away.
