right, great point. the OBD only places are generally either the owner or his 16 y/o nephew doing the tests and they don't know what to look for even if the DMV gives them a microfiche blow up of the motor from 1967.
for OBD is the shop or the individual inspector that has to be certified with the state?
there are fewer and fewer of the rolling testing stations around these days and I see that as telling. that's a ton of equipment and space required to keep for a very small segment of cars. when that goes away that's when cars that are not OBD compatible are in trouble, or will they go back to simply sniffing tail pipes?
