Yes, a Glock in 9 mm would fit the bill. How about .40? I would not let magazine capacity drive my decision. Sure, more is better, but is 15 better than 13? Or 13 better than 10? Most self defense situation are cleared with 5 rounds or less.
Open carry is an iffy subject. It is good when out hunting, fishing, camping, on your property but not in public. Here, Jerry has an opinion:
So, what Glock models did you have in mind?
I am a Sig fan - I like metal frames and a hammer / decoker. But I am not a self defense type of shooter. Only carry when hunting and that's usually a revolver.
As others have said, maybe you should pick a caliber and then shoot as many 9s as you can. Don't knock any of the other manufacturers. Everyone makes their version of a Glock now.
