I hate depreciation. And yes gt cars depreciate. The thrill of driving the new hottest Porsche doesn’t lure me past that hate. For example picked up a very nice 160k spec’d 991 (not a gt car) for less than 1/2 msrp w 20k miles. It’s my new daily.

So here’s the rule.
The newest Porsche is always better
You have to decide if that better matters.

For me, the new cars especially the gt cars that better is not really experienced on the street. It takes a much higher level of performance to feel it.

Part of the reason the last gt car i bought is my 997rs and a gt4. Sold that. Kept rs. Stopped tracking mostly so the latest is... better but in my use case... not really better.

Oh, the front end on the 992 cars is magical. Porsche did something crazy. Feels near as goood as my 997gt. And that was a carrera s 992 i drove....

So if it's my money: I buy now. Pay less. AND enjoy it. NOW.
