I agree. It's been a couple of years since I visited, but my family cemeteries give me a sense of where I came from. There are graves of people I have heard many stories about, but died long before I met them. It gives me a sense of connection with my ancestors that is important to me. Just the names of my ancestors - Levi, Jemima, Gustin, Lafayette - are stories in themselves.
I do want a stone or some sort of memorial so 50 years from now my great, great grandchildren can look at my memorial and ask, "Is that the old hippie you talked about? What's a hippie?"
