Short Shifter for Street Only?
Thinking that with a sloppy(ish) shifter...and with engine and tranny out of the car (not to mention having removed what was left of shifter foam insert)...now is the time to replace shifter components.
Am thinking of going the whole distance with the lineup of Only944's shifter components: his short shift kit, shifter linkage, and shifter assembly. From what I can see there would be no redundancy in this, and each would add to the other to enhance my driving/shifting experience.
My question is specific to the short shifter kit. Knowing that I will never track this car, is this kit still something I would appreciate? Or would the improvements I would realize by going with just the new shift linkage and shifter mechanism be enough?
Yeah, I know...kind of subjective - but would like to get some opinions anyway. Thanks!
