Tim, the NTC sensor has 2 tangs on it - one for the gauge, the other for the light.
Either your connector has fallen off for the light and is grounding out to the block or similar, or your sensor has failed.
This is the non-DME temperature sensor, the one that is not light blue that is used for the DME to compensate fuel mixture...
