Primers bare metal: etching primer or epoxy primer
Build primer goes over above mentioned then sanded
Sealer goes over build primer, sealers are optional
Basecoat is your color either single stage (final coat) or base plus clear.
Clear goes over basecoat and then sanded down and buffed.
These are just the basics, best to stick with one product line and follow TDS sheets. Your local jobber should be able to help you out.
