[QUOTE=onboost;7482688]1986 930,
The other was Alan Johnson Racing who actually was allowed to sell slant nose conversion parts over the counter. These were factory parts as they were a factory authorized Porsche dealer. They did however offer the factory slant front fenders in 2 styles w/two price points.. factory lights with the single mechanism, and aftermarket Mazda motored headlights with your choice of round or square lights, just as many of the conversion shops offered. The difference was theirs was on factory fenders.

Thanks for the Alan Johnson info. I have had my 1979 930 for over 20 years but always wondered about it as it has the early no vent fenders with the Mazda lights and the rear fenders does not have the intake with strakes. Also has the front valance with the huge Behr oil cooler from the early 80s as it was done by them 1983. Originally ordered color to sample "Sunburst Yellow" and according to the records mild race on Sunday and drive to work on Monday with Andial mods, head porting , cams, intercooler borla exhaust etc. Also weltmeister adjustable suspension with thru the body front sway bar 8:41 axle and respaced 1-3rd gears,, pin stripe cloth seats and had BBS wheels , vented front brakes from behind the fog lights ( just remove the lights for better aiir flow. Looks like they did more than just the bodywork as it is original to the AJ build in early 80s. Got it in 1999 after over 10 years of Texas Museum non use storage with 28K now has 43K,15K more fun miles.
