Someone obviously forgot to remove the screw during disassembly and broke it off, then discarded it. When I got my BCS, the right side was separated from the fairing but still screwed in place. I used some 3M emblem glue to re-attach and it has held up nicely since then. It isn't absolutely necessary but keeps the fairing from dancing at idle.
