Not sure he really "needs" a top. Most tops are wrinkled. Clean it and put some 303 fabric guard on it. The biggest issue is normally that cheap back window they put in the thing. I think he said the power top doesn't work. Either convert it to manual or fix the power top but either one isn't going to break the bank.
But right now we're just guessing since we don't have any pics of the car to work with. The mileage, if verified, is the big thing here.
