Reading the OP’s post what stands out is ‘it was garaged for a while’ bike storage can be a killer, anything short of fully carpeted/insulated/centrally heated garage will open an absolute can of worms, so my first port of call would be pulling ever electrical connector apart and spray with WD before even considering anything else.
