Instead of running it dry and possible damaging the fuel pump, I would find some racing fuel, or even avgas if you can't find alcohol free gasoline. Just a few gallons and the Stabil and you will be fine. If you are going for long term storage, of more than a year, then for certain follow Grady's instructions in the thread posted above.

You did not define what your long term storage time frame was. 3 months is one thing, 3 years is way different for needed preparation.

Totally agree. If storage is less than 3-4 months, other than some fuel stabilizer and adding some extra air to the tires, I would just throw a cover over the car and move on.
