Back to the original question. If you're storing the car for a season (like winter) I believe the SOP is to fill the tank with fresh gas with a fuel stabilizer. Then run the car a few minutes to pull the fresh gas/stabilizer mix thru the system. Be advised most fuel stabilizers are only good for about a year according to their labels. If you're storing the car for a few years, then draining the system might be the way to go.
