I won't use any double entendres, but my son was home this past weekend and we spent about three hours over the course of two days on our range on the farm with two virgins
I bought him a S and W Model 19 Comp Carry .38 Special and .357 Magnum for graduation from law school and I picked it up a month ago. He has already passed the Virginia Bar so it was on order a while. We spent time with both.
200 plus rounds through the Ruger, a mix of old and good ammo, which I always like to do. It ate everything with gusto...no FTF, misfires or FTE. Some of .22 was at least 10 years old.
Very accurate. I did do some laser bore-sighting last week and made no adjustments before the range period. I did a mix of bench and free hand. My son shoots a lot better than I do and he was impressed.
The other thing we liked is the clip extraction, much better than the MK II.
So, thank you, JB. Very happy.
To the S and W:
Easiest small frame gun I have ever shot.
The PowerPort vented barrel aids in recoil management, which is always a concern when shooting .357 Magnum rounds. Controlling your revolver in recoil doesn’t just mean a more comfortable shooting experience. In a self-defense scenario, this is what enables you to fire potentially lifesaving rapid and accurate follow-up shots.
Great two days. We spent time with each before and after range times.
