I got a good deal from the original owner with a smith .40. I just thought about what I would do with it.

Considered Cabela’s and a local gun store. Both said $250 and acted like they doing mea favor. The net showed them going for $500 plus FFL and shipping. About $600 to your door.

Fookdat. I’m glad Seahawk grabbed it. He did me a solid in the past.

I wasn't kidding: I was in the Giant parking lot as my DV buddy shopped...he was moving slow and I was surfing the net like a 16 year-old.

I LOVE my old MK II and have probably put an easy 3k rounds through it. I bought the old MK II in San Diego in 1984 and I have a lot of fond memories of it. This one goes to my daughter and I get the old one back.

Sorry!

Not really

Will second the accurizing kit
If you get the chance to use and take down a mkIV
you will sell the mk III
Taking down a mmkII requires more the the prev generations - including having to put a mag in to complete takedown

Have you given that virgin a run for the money?

I won't use any double entendres, but my son was home this past weekend and we spent about three hours over the course of two days on our range on the farm with two virgins

I bought him a S and W Model 19 Comp Carry .38 Special and .357 Magnum for graduation from law school and I picked it up a month ago. He has already passed the Virginia Bar so it was on order a while. We spent time with both.

200 plus rounds through the Ruger, a mix of old and good ammo, which I always like to do. It ate everything with gusto...no FTF, misfires or FTE. Some of .22 was at least 10 years old.

Very accurate. I did do some laser bore-sighting last week and made no adjustments before the range period. I did a mix of bench and free hand. My son shoots a lot better than I do and he was impressed.

The other thing we liked is the clip extraction, much better than the MK II.

So, thank you, JB. Very happy.

To the S and W:

Easiest small frame gun I have ever shot.

The PowerPort vented barrel aids in recoil management, which is always a concern when shooting .357 Magnum rounds. Controlling your revolver in recoil doesn’t just mean a more comfortable shooting experience. In a self-defense scenario, this is what enables you to fire potentially lifesaving rapid and accurate follow-up shots.

Great two days. We spent time with each before and after range times.
