I drove my 993 today and thought about this Guntherthing some more. I sure would love to hear how they came up with the name? Is it supposed to be funny and Dieter was taken?

If I had the money, I'd rather build my own warmed over 993. It won't be "bespoke" but probably 90% of the fun of the Gunthermobile. Much of the drivetrain is not really special and can be reproduced with the help of Rothsport, Jerry Woods and others in the us. Same with the gearbox. Then just lighten the chassis by removing sound insulation and interior bits. If you want to get fancy, go Gt2 body. You won't have all the weight savings, but with some DIY, you can get pretty far with 100k + a 993. You would miss the very low weight and the fancy wide track and suspension. But that track width front would worry me anyway, it is too far a departure from how a 993 should feel on the road and track.

Anyway, these are my musings. You can tell, it wasn't a very far drive. I did promise myself to go drive the 993 more. I should get some nice bucket seats for it, bespoke ones.
