Kyngfish, I too like(d) the Evora and have had similar thoughts. They are special cars as well.
One of the really great things about the 911 is you can always buy parts no matter what year, presumably forever. They are easy to work on for the most part: for my year 911, some parts are above my pay grade, so that is not good, and a genuine reason to seek alternative cars.
Lotus may be not so kind on the aftermarket if you are looking for a car to enjoy for a while.
The Alfa 4C is my pick if you wish to seek other pastures (because they will become iconic fairly soon).
