When I commuted to work on a motorcycle, I was run off the road for laughs. So yeah, I can see it happening. Especially if there's a little meth involved.
For some people, avenging hurt pride becomes so overwhelmingly important that they genuinely can't see the consequences beyond that step.
My daughter had to sack someone in retail because a customer innocently bumped into them, and apologised. (All on tape) The employee took this as such a slight that they began pushing the customer trying to start a physical altercation. The customer tried to deescalate and work away with the employee yelling in their ear "Let's do this."
When my daughter said to the employee "You know why you can't stay?" the girl just said "yeah, I need to work on my anger".
