As a bicyclist of a certain age, I see plenty of peer-riders with cubic dough to spend; they buy a 10,000-dollar Cervelo or Pinarello and the worth of every accessory like water bottle cages or bar-tape is measured in grams not dollars.
You guessed it. Plenty of those same riders could go on a diet and lose the equivalent weight of their superbike and actually be able to measure the performance difference that the weight loss makes.
