Gee guys, I'm not sure what to say. I felt I overpaid for them back in 2018 when I was in a bind. I was either wrong or like they say in the business... You didn't overpay, you just bought too early.

Unfortunately, this is where our hobby has gone to. On the one hand, I like that my cars and parts are worth more than when I acquired them, but, in reality, I'd prefer things weren't so irrationally exuberant. I don't want to divest my cars, I want to acquire more of them (and the parts to keep all of them on the road). I'm afraid that the more valuable they get, the less they'll get used.

After this set of Fuchs leave the building (shipping, with insurance, across the country is PRICEY), I'll be down to three and a half sets, including two sets of 7&9x16 Fuchs Evos. I LOVE the Fuchs Evos, so much so that I'm contemplating acquiring a set in 8&10x18 for a 993 that I don't even own yet.

@zztot As you may be aware and to partially answer your question, the 951 8" Fuchs are, as of yet, unavailable from Fuchs Felgen. The 951 8s fit the front of 911s / 930s / '86 944 Turbos and are considerably harder to source than the more common 911 rear 8s (that do not fit the front). I keep asking Fuchs for 951 8" availability though. Still no estimated production date. So, in the case of my auction, you had a set of the most aggressive 16" OE Fuchs fitments, in great matching condition (paint, anodizing, patina, etc), available as a package right now.

Pelicans, and car people in general, like to complain about BaT buyers, but the market is hyper efficient. There are people that don't have the time to spend hours per week on internet forums, but they have the wherewithal to pay prices that many consider exorbitant. I've unsubscribed from the BaT daily email as the transaction prices for cars I'd like to own have gotten depressing.

Can you IMAGINE if I'd listed these 8&9 Fuchs here for $10k? I shudder at what the response woulda been. Crickets? Lambasting? Both? I've experienced the following here...

Check out this listing...

I originally asked $1,750 here.
I barely got a response (someone offered $500, but IDK if he was serious)
Two weeks later, it sells on Pcarmarket For $2,660 ($2,926 with buyer's premium). The guy picks it up the next morning(!), on Thanksgiving, and pays me in cash.

Here's another story. I listed these 7s&9s here for $3,300 in July 2020...

No response. Five months later, they sold for... $3,300 in one week on BaT. The buyer coulda saved $165 if he'd seen them here on Pelican, while they languished for five months.

It's a shame, but Pelican Parts Forums may not be the best place to list premium parts. I wish it were otherwise.
