The beetles is a '50. It spent about 50 years in heated storage on either Carlsen Porsche or my father's Boardwalk VW showrooms in Palo Alto and Redwood City. Then 10 years in my garage. So it hasn't been touched since 1963. It's not exactly unrestored, but it's not undergone an actual restoration, either. Just a paint job and interior work almost 60 years ago. Mechanically, it's untouched. I think it has 35,000 miles on it. The wear on the engine and the (original) starter motor suggest that the odometer hasn't turned over. But I can't be positive.
The Tristar is an '89, one of 500 syncro Tristars built by VW. It came to me from Sweden.
They will be sold at a consignment place in Corte Madera called Cars Dawydiak. Walter Dawydiak has sold three cars for me before, and he always gets a great price. He's a car
guy more than a car
dealer.
