Thumbs up

Dave,

I did that exact mod a year ago. It works great and looks cool.

First, I bought the gauge pictured in your post. Then, I removed both my oil temp sender and my oil pressure idiot light sender and sent them, along with the gauge, to Palo Alto Speedometer in CA. Palo Alto sourced two new senders and bench tested them for compatibility with the gauge. This testing is important since there are several different early 911S oil pressure/temp gauges (see Johnson's book) and since the 912 senders are different from the 911 senders.

The new senders from Palo Alto installed easily. The new oil temp sender looks identical to the original. However, the oil pressure sender is different in that it is from a 911 and it has two posts. As currently installed, I am only using one of the posts- the oil pressure level post. This is because I have not yet run the required second wire from gauge back to the engine. I am assuming that the second post is for an idiot light. If so, you could certainly use the parking-brake light as the idiot light.

That's how I did it. There may be other ways.

Cheers,

-E
