Take the spring out with the swivel base. Should be attached with Phillip small screws. Cut about 1/3 of that spring with a wire cutter, bend end to fit and re-attach it. Lubricate that swivel before installation. You should now have more tension. I have seen doors with it and without that spring (newer doors). I won't pay $20.00 for a 50-cent spring

Be careful not to pinch yourself with the spring wire (don't ask)
