I wouldn't use a traditional car cover for outdoor use. I worked with a guy who had a concours (kinda) Mercedes SL. He used a car cover that he left on during a wind storm. Some dust got under the car cover and sanded the paint down on one fender to the bare metal. He cut it up and threw it away. The cover not the fender. LOL
