The 999 was considered the most comfortable of the Ducati Superbikes, but not really comparable to a boxer, they are pure corner maschines and work well when you push them. The Streetfighter S I rode was very capable on the road, but like the SuperDuke is an on/off sort of ride. Acceleration is breathtaking, braking impressive, everything in between not so. Town or touring is just not in the equation.
I rode 30 years in the Alps, where bikes like these are worth the effort. But getting to the twisties was always a bit of a pain, even when I was a bit tougher. Hope that helps...
