I also bought the $74.24 cover. It uses two types of material. The top layer is an aluminum look and the bottom layer is soft material. It is more bulky than the less expensive cover. There are only two seams and they run the length of the car cover. The seams are welded. There has been no leakage for the last few months that it has been raining here in California.
