I didn't think it was necessary, at all, until I started having some issues that I could not diagnose. I had no good/easy way to sanity check what was going on without pulling the injectors and squirting them in a jar. That sucked!

With two 02 sensors, I thought I could at least see that the banks were operating and that I could identify a stuck injector or a non-working injector. Once I had them in place, it turned into a syncing tool. Now I can quickly see, at least, what's going on with each bank.

I use the left bank for control and only monitor the right bank.
