I got Covid, lost 5 pounds, now they're back. I hear you about finishing left overs, as well as supporting restaurants.
Here's what I do, and it may not work for you so you'll have to find your thing.
1. I weigh myself everyday.
2. I don't eat breakfast until I'm hungry. I do have coffee.
3. For dinner, I only eat half the serving of what I normally eat. Then I wait. If I'm still hungry I have Greek yogurt or one of those KIND bars.
4. I try my best to at least have fruits and vegetables first, so having cut fruits in the fridge helps. Then salad maybe twice a week at least.
5. Oatmeal with raisins and almonds or walnuts is my go-to breakfast.
6. And I have started cutting back on sugar. This seems to be the one thing that causes 1 or 2 pound spikes overnight. That and chips. Bread, not so much but now I know it makes me feel bloated.
7. Water when needed. I don't go for 8 glasses. I go for "not thirsty" since I'm sitting most of the time for work. If I go to the gym that day, I drink a bit more.
8. On the days I don't go to the gym, I go for a walk.
The one thing I would say is: only change ONE thing at a time for two weeks.
