At 15 years old we stole the ol' man's car (Country Squire 69 Ford wagon 429 11 to 1 compression) and took it to 120 mph as kids. Parents were on a trip to Canada. Ray, my best frien was 16 and drove it. Same year driving my 68 Camaro we passed these farmer boys from Smith Valley in a Ford truck on the way back to Smith Valley. Me in passengers side chucked a large Coke from Dairy Queen through their driver's window which was open and simultaneously said -- f-uck off! It was scary cuz they were like 18 year old boys! My car was the fastest in our town but I couldn't drive it without Ray. Lori his girlfriend 14 years old was sitting on the console. With a 307 diff ratio then and a 4 speed Saginaw we must have topped 130 and scarred ****less. We left them standing nonetheless!
My advice would be to keep the car, do rego in NV or AZ through a friend if you got one and drive and own it in CA. No one's the wiser like the State enemy. Whether you could do that is another question.
