Got a 2005 987.1 Base with Tiptronic trans.
I test drove a S model and did not feel the performance difference on a streetcar was necessary.
Bought it because it was getting very hot in summer and wasn't enjoying driving my early 911 as much without A/C.
Got it for less than $8,000 with 74,000 miles. now have 119,000 miles.
Just do regular maintenance on it and a Oil change every 5,000
I had a c/v joint book split on it and replaced all 4 about 2 months ago. cost less than $100.
I also had a plastic gear for the convertible top break took me a few years to get around to fixing it. Just raised and lowered it manually.
The 2 trunks carry a lot. I use it to go to Costco.
I don't like that it doesn't have a spare tire. The early models do.
I found Porsche people act differently when you are in the Boxster then when you are in an air-cooled Porsche.
I am used to it riding Sportster at Harley events.
