This is a carbon/kevlar replica of a factory protection plate part #91134116105. It is constructed from a single layer of carbon and several layers (between 3 and 8 depending on location) of carbon Kevlar. There is a single layer of 2mm honeycomb resin matrix core.

The part is vacuum resin infused and post cured in a computer controlled oven for 16 hours to ensure the greatest possible mechanical strength.

It is less than a quarter of the weight of a steel panel and is impressively stiff and strong.
