So here is an update.
Before going down the rabbit hole with the CIS. I did a validation on the ignition and found that I had plugged in spark plug wires incorrectly. I had them clockwise instead of anti- clockwise.

Still did not start, so I turned the engine 180 and reseated the dizzy to plug 1 and that didn’t work either.


I am getting spark using the spark tester but not when I am using the timing light.
Since the car has been sitting for a year I am going to add some new petrol.

Do you think that the spark is too weak?
