A couple of updates……
My wife, who is an accomplished seamstress and quilter, reluctantly offered to contribute to Alberto’s interior. Stay tuned for the finishing touch.
I finally got the early door mechanism to work on the Rennline door handles. It needed a bit of bending here and there to accommodate the shorter throw of the lock button vs that of later models with the squeeze trigger. I also added a second “ear” to the lock mechanism so now my (after market) power door locks unlocks both doors from both the drivers and passenger sides.
I’m disappointed with the ill-fitting Rennline rubber gaskets that came with the door handles. Maybe OEM rubber will be better. See pic above.
I’m now experimenting with a wireless remote door lock system.
