It can be done but it's expensive. In my case it was a solid Dexter axle on a trailer. Whole axle had to come off, welded on. Warranty issue, Dexter was great BTW. Cheaper too with the warranty axle. I got my 3.5's from Chuck at ER, spendy. Check out the KW thread here for another option.
