It only goes together one way without a BFH.
The sump screen goes on so the oil pick up tube inserts into the hole in the screen. The steel cover goes on so the drain plug screws up into the relief "dimple" in the sump screen. Just to be sure, insert the drain plug into the sump plate finger tight before you attach it. Then you will see why the "dimple."
