I feel like soldering this would be risky??
I know someone with a broken oil line. He cut out the crushed/cracked section, replaced with rubber hose, and generic hose clamps.

So far, it seals and works and doesnt leak. Not what I would do but if it works, why not...
He is a pensioner on a budget so was reluctant to buy new hard lines understandably.
