Not the same thing, Baz. WD is asking if he can remix the recorded music. He can, but it's gonna take some time and software to isolate and remove a particular part of the already mixed recording. Then he can augment the isolated track and add it back in. The music, as originally recorded, shouldn't suffer much after the missing audio is placed back in, just a little different and hopefully what is he looking for. Playing the recording after some digital signals have been stripped out would sound strange.
It's like lacing out a tree and then adding back all the branches with longer ones. Still the same tree, but the look will be different.
AFA an online tool for this, that I don't know. I do know lots of software is out there for the purpose.
