Do a Google picture search on all provided pictures, and ask for additional pictures with a scale or something similar for verification that they had the item.
The worst is Facebook. Scammers are setting of new Groups titled like "993 Cars and Parts and things". The admin and moderators will be scammers with bogus reviews and the power to delete your feedback or comments. All the pictures and posts are taken from other sites. If the Group was just started a few weeks ago and they have many positive reviews, all posted within a few days, and they are selling many rare and expensive items for cheap, they are a scam. You can open the individual's profiles and check a couple levels to find out everything is bogus. It's actually quite funny to look at the profiles of those giving high praise recommendations and stating "this is legit", "best seller ever", and "received in 3 days". They are buying very expensive rare Porsche parts but they are a 20 something living in Pakistan or Vietnam, with a profile created 2 days ago.
