Yep. I teach HPDE and jumped into a gorgeous black 911 when a student wanted me to take a few laps and show him the line. I was on the grid and didn't do my normal preflight check of tires, model, hp, etc, just got in and planned to do a 7/10s lap or two. We rolled out of the grid and rounded turn one onto a moderate straight. I poured on the gas and this car flew.
"So... 996 Turbo?? She really gets after it!" I showed him 2 laps and talked through braking points, turn in, and track out emphasizing that he wants to get the wheel fully unwound B4 coming onto boost. He did great the rest of the day. Very fun car.
