I had a friend who had his M3's main wiring harness destroyed by a sloppy installer while installing a roll cage. Apparently when they welded it in, the current went thru the harness and melted it. Should I be worried about this with my 914? It is pretty much all assembled and the harneses work. Should I disconnect the control unit, main harness, FI harness, headlights, etc before welding? I'm only welding some floor boards, firewall, and external body stuff.
