If the "oscillation" you are referring to is a very low-freq (few times per second) booming kind of resonance, yes, I've noticed it on my 99. (It sounds almost exactly like a twin-engine airplane with the props slightly out of synch.) When my bike was new, it would do it around 3.5K RPM pretty consistently. It had completely vanished until I noticed it last week, but only for a brief period.
I don't think it is serious, but it is weird. I suspect it is some strange vibration resonance where the frame or some component of the bike resonates with the engine vibration.
