One of my cars and a freinds 914 came with "Mini-Tornado" mirrors. They are a black plastic with a larger base and a tinted larger mirror. They are also fairly cheap, around $35. I CAN'T STAND THEM, they were one of the first things to come off the car. I'll admit it was not because they functioned badly, I just think they look ugly. They also require different holes to be drilled in the door and the original ones to be filled. The two original mirrors I have now are pretty pathetic, I usally have to look over anyway. They are good for backing into my "car hole" (car port) so I don't hit anything, but are too small and vibrate.

Other options are to get the 911 mirrors, they look cool, some are electric, but they are about $200 I think.
