I've noticed on E-Bay that someone is selling a "high performance" fuel rail for the 914. I've heard that these don't really add any performance to the 914.

I was at the local wrecking yard recently, and I noticed that the later year VW Buses had a factory fuel rail setup. This was simply a 6" tube installed over each head that the fuel lines hooked up to.

My question: why did the factory install the fuel rail setup and does it affect anything? And, would these add anything to my 914 besides a few grams of weight?

Any advice from the experts would be great..............Vern
