Th efuel filter is the same as a 911, the trans is a 923/915 and has a few differences so it can mate to the T4 that and it has the pre-74 915 shorter gear set. The motor even has a GC engine code and the 914 style dipstick. I've heard they made 2099 912E's because they had 2099 76 914 motors sitting around and needed a stop gap until the 924 came out. The engine tin, mounting bar, and exhaust are expensive, I found Parts werks still has some new exhaust stuff, the thermal reactor replacement pipes, for $250!!!

The rest of the car has some differences with the 76 911, but not nearly as many as the earlier 912's. Mine seems to have the 911 wiring harness, little things like the oil tank sender wires and other things are in the car even though it dosnen't need tham. A 911 motor engine swap is very easy on a 912E the mounts are all there, and all the brackets for the oil tank. Not sure but you might need a new input shaft on the 923 trans and the 911 throttle linkage that hooks to the trans isn't there. The throw out arem is a cross between the 901 and the 915 trans.
