I thinks it's the point of the classic car insurance plans (e.g. Silver Wheels) to have restrictions. That is why they are so cheap -- the risk is limited by the rule that you can't drive the car to work, etc. If the car is used to drive to/fro work, you're stuck with regular insurance rates. I don't think there's any way around it.

I'm planning on switching to the Silver Wheels plan through Lant Insurance.
