Problem with reusing the raiders is the fear that they may have a cylon homing device that would lead the Cylon fleet to their location. It's a hard call: do they reuse the technology and risk being detected, or do they completely destroy the cylon hardware? Seems this is not a consistent thing on the show: they destroyed the attacking raiders in Friday's episode, yet they kept Starbuck's raider, and they've kept Sharon #1 and the other 'dead' cylons around, as well as the new, pregnant Sharon. And I wonder what they did with the raider that Starbuck, Helo and Sharon used to get back to Kobol - must be stored somewhere, or did they abandon it on Kobol?
I still suspect they may salvage some of that cool cylon technology and we'll see it again in some future episode.
