Kinda Sorta. Scifi splits their seasons in two.

12 episodes in the summer and 12 episodes in the winter. Either way you don't have to wait an entire year in suspense.

In the original show, Pegasus shows up for two episodes and then Galactica loses contact with the ship again during a battle. You never know what happens to Pegasus. Then the show ended.

However, in reading some of the Directors comments on the show, I think this will be different with a much longer story arc for Pegasus.

Short version of the old BSG.

1. Cain shows up out of nowhere, and fights to what you can assume is his ship's final battle, so the fleet (and BSG) can get away. Cain is never verified to be dead, just MIA. Not too specific I hope.

2. In the "after the series" movie at the theaters, they see earth the big blue beautiful planet and are flying towards it. No contact is made (radio or otherwise), no landing is made before the credits roll........................no hint of time line other than it's not the mega continent, it's something from the last 10,000 years or next 10,000 years - accounting for continental drift. Hey there were clouds and that was 25 years ago - stock Apollo footage was used - just before the first space shuttle flights.

As far as I know there was never a theatrically realeased BG movie. I checked imdb.com, and they don't have anything on it either. The second season ends with the colonial fleet finding earth, and then they had the really lame "Galactica 1980" followup series the next year that was their life on earth. It only lasted a few episodes as far as I remember.

Good episode - the cylon formation looked quite formidable. One thing was missing, however: no appearance by Number Six. I suppose they didn't have time to dedicate to Baltar's madness this time around...

Which of course, begs another question: With hundreds of derelict Raiders floating around, why not snag a few and pull a "Starbuck" and rip out their guts and fly them yourself...or pull whatever they are using for engines off and use them in the "Laura"?

Clearly this is a rhetorical question...the real reason that didn't happen is that the writers don't want the Colonials to be too formidable. They need to suffer to give the show it's dark flavor.

While we were watching, I told my wife they were going to build a fleet from the wrecked raiders. She did not hesitate to remind me I was wrong as the show ended.

Problem with reusing the raiders is the fear that they may have a cylon homing device that would lead the Cylon fleet to their location. It's a hard call: do they reuse the technology and risk being detected, or do they completely destroy the cylon hardware? Seems this is not a consistent thing on the show: they destroyed the attacking raiders in Friday's episode, yet they kept Starbuck's raider, and they've kept Sharon #1 and the other 'dead' cylons around, as well as the new, pregnant Sharon. And I wonder what they did with the raider that Starbuck, Helo and Sharon used to get back to Kobol - must be stored somewhere, or did they abandon it on Kobol?

I still suspect they may salvage some of that cool cylon technology and we'll see it again in some future episode.

It certainly was edgy...but I had it called way ahead of time...just saw it coming by piecing together the "preview clips" at the start.

When the Pegasus cylon turned out to be 6, my girlfriend belted out "You called it." That wasn't in the clips but I figured they needed a way to work that actress back into the scripts as someting other than a hallucination. Maybe the show is becoming too predicatable.

I will make yet ANOTHER prediction: The Galactica/Pegasus battle will not happen. Cylons will attack the fleet (or the recon party) and all fighters will be needed to defend the fleet.

Another alternative....the battle will not happen because the President intervenes on behalf of Adama. Says her ships will not resupply Pegasus or tolerate it's presence unless Pegasus stands down and hands Helo and the Chief over to civilian authorities. This one is a long shot.

I feel the first scenario is WAY more likely. Anyone want to propose a few more scenarios and make it a poll?
