Been there, done that - only did it with a 600+ HP Turbo Buick. I tried the electronic controllers, but I think they are more hype than anything. I simply stuck with the basics - a DeltaGate (Turbonetics) wastegates, a manual boost controller, VDO boost gauge, pop off valve and a 7th injector.
I was running 29 PSI all day with no creep and no surges. Remember that turbo motors are combination driven. No one part is going to save your motor from a missed shift or over boost. I like the manual control for two major reasons - the boost limit stays set no matter what and should the car develope an electrcial problem, it wont affect the boost.
